Christmas Party 2009 (Belated)

Postby davidb » Mon Jan 18, 2010 8:58 am

Hi all
I am appealing for raffle prizes for the party so please dig deep and find a small gift to donate. Youre sure to have (in the back of a drawer or cupboard) an unwanted something you can bring along or perhaps you could buy a little something (£2 will be fine) Remember all the money raised goes to Dans chosen charity this year!!
Apart from prizes I need to have an idea of what anyone intends to bring along to eat, so if youre doing any cooking, or making anything at all, please let me know asap. Margaret and myself will be doing 2 hot dishes each to go with rice, so if anyone else would like to do something, thats great! Even if youre prepared to bake quiche/sarnies/pies or other things we appreciate it!
Please note that I will reimburse you for any stuff you have to purchase so dont feel you need to spend your own money on things. The fact is it just makes it so much easier if people all chip in, then the onus is not on a couple of folks to organise everything and and cook etc. as well. If anyone can lend a slow cooker it would be much appreciated!!!
Can you also e mail me with numbers so we can work out how much food we need please! remember friends and family are welcome but they will have to pay a small fee for the pleasure of our company
Hope to see you today if this cold shifts a bit. Have been really under the weather for a while
Kind regards
Norma

Hi folks
I just wanted to say what a great night it was, and how well everyone mingled!! Many thanks to all of you who gave their time to cook such delicious food and also to those who generously gave pressies for the raffle!!! I think from feedback that it was a great success, and £72 was raised for Dans charity. Thanks to Emily and Sharon for selling all those tickets!! After worrying that it would be a bit flat after Xmas when there were no decorations etc the general concensus of opinion was that we should do the same next year, and forget about having it before Xmas, as everyone is so busy. It certainly gave people an opportunity to chat and get to know each other better. I think there was the makings of a small committee who might be organising something for the coming year, so watch this space!!!
Dont forget to bring back any trophies from the monthly shoot, so we can award them to the new winners
See you soon
Norma
